Mana Women's Fellowship - September, 2011 through May, 2012: "Becoming A Friend of God" (Newly Revised)

Eating crow can be a nourishing experience. For over ten years I have emphatically proclaimed that I would never write another bible study guide. Wiser heads warned me to "Never say never." They were right. As we looked for a study book this fall, nothing seemed quite right. So we began an update that quickly turned into a total renovation, of "Becoming A Friend of God."

Our lives are filled with communication from emails, cell phones, text messages, etc. Our ears are filled with messages from everyone but God. He has no ringtone and He doesn't beep when He texts. But God speaks to those who are listening.

Abraham heard God's Word, believed Him, and God Himself called Abraham, "My friend". So our study this year will be based on the life of Abraham. But this year is really about Getting to know God personally. In His Word, He reveals His personality. We see Him reacting to His friends. We see how He responds to their heartaches and to their failures. Then, we can know how God, our friend, will treat us.

     You can: Sit in a pew every Sunday
          Read a devotional daily
               Serve on a church committee
                    And still not have an intimate relationship with God.

This is the year to: Become A Friend of God

We will begin with Chapter One on Thursday, September 22.
Manna in the Morning meets at 10am upstairs.
Manna in the Evening meets at 7pm in Fellowship Hall.

Books are $12 and can be purchased after church on: Sunday, September 11 and 18 at the Manna Tea or at the Opening Session.
